Maple Leaves - threads EP
Lovely folk indie pop is in Maple Leaves' DNA and this EP released back in 2011 that collects together some of their earlier songs is no exception. "Tapestry" is mellowy urgent with cute keyboards in the background. "Easy speak" is even more so with sweet male-female vocal interplay. "Kirsty" has some beautiful pop moments and is an excellent uptempo number, "Fields" is more laid back but no less enjoyable and the bonus remix of that track is spacey and atmospheric. Another great EP, a rich sound with so much to appreciate.

The new EP by the wonderful Maple Leaves brings more rooty pop joy such as on the title track "robots" which has a joyous perfect folk indie pop melody when it gets going along with its organic yet machine sounding beat. "Missing parts" adds some flute, some nice male-female vocal interchange. Like "robots" it is a very human song full of warmth and feel.
"Those arms" soars with atmosphere, the perfect song to listen to while gazing across a barren yet beautiful landscape perhaps, must try it. Every track is crafted to perfection and so very very listenable. Its something more than much of the music scene, its got some heart. In a world plagued with fakery and illusion this is the reality you really deserve.

Maple Leaves - golden ether EP

I like this band a lot, they released this EP late last year on Bubblegum and i fell in love with their slightly folk-y and rooty indie pop immediately. The title track is a great showcase for Anna Miles' voice and is backed perfectly with a semi-acoustic backing. The tune is very infectious for sure and has been stuck in my head ever since i first found the song on Youtube a week ago!
Best song though may be "Drunk at the pulpit" which has some great humour to it and some great lyrics as well as a bit of a more classic rock feel. Best single i've bought for ages, ok i don't buy that many singles but even if i did this would stand out as something special.
